Verify Us First: How We Run Gumshoe Through Its Own Check
We ask you to trust Gumshoe with sensitive due diligence decisions. So we think it's only fair you can verify us before you pay us a cent.
We ask you to trust Gumshoe with sensitive due diligence decisions. So we think it's only fair that you can verify us before you pay us a cent.
What "Verify us first" means
Every Gumshoe report footer includes a link that runs a live check on Solar Storm Media Pty Ltd — the company that operates Gumshoe. The same check you'd run on a supplier, a business partner, or a contractor. No special treatment. No cherry-picked snapshot.
You'll see:
- ABN status and GST registration
- ASIC company registration details
- AusTender contracts (we have none — we're early stage)
- FWO, ACCC, sanctions, insolvency — clean across the board
- Web presence and registered addresses
If something looks wrong, or you spot a discrepancy, you can email disputes@gumshoe.au and we'll resolve it within 3 business days.
Why this matters
Australia has a fraud problem. Invoice fraud, fake supplier scams, and identity theft cost Australian businesses hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Gumshoe exists to reduce that risk — but we can't ask you to trust a product that doesn't apply its own standards to itself.
There's also a deeper reason. We cross-reference 20+ government registers to verify your suppliers. Those same registers are publicly available. We are verifiable by the same means we use to verify others. That symmetry isn't accidental — it's the whole point.
What you can verify right now
Run the check yourself: gumshoe.au/?abn=23937986533
You'll see our full report — the same report your own suppliers get when you run them through Gumshoe. Here's what you should expect to find:
- ABN active: 23 937 986 533 — registered and GST-active
- Registered in: New South Wales, Australia
- Entity type: Australian Private Company
- Insolvency, bans, sanctions: None recorded
- Data storage: Oracle Cloud, Melbourne region — Australian soil
- Analytics: Umami (self-hosted, no Google Analytics, no data leaves our servers)
Our security posture
We don't store the data you look up. When you run an ABN through Gumshoe, we query government registers in real time, compute the score, and stream the result to your browser. We don't build profiles of the entities you investigate or share your search history with anyone.
For more detail, read our security page — including what we store, what we never store, and our responsible disclosure policy.
If you disagree with a verdict
Verdicts are derived from public government registers. If a FAIL verdict on your business is incorrect, it almost certainly means the underlying register data needs correcting — not our algorithm. We'll help you identify which register and how to lodge a correction. See our disputes page for the process.
The floor we hold ourselves to
We won't operate Gumshoe from an entity that can't pass a Gumshoe check. If our own report ever turns red, we'll disclose it publicly before any other communication. That's the deal.
Run the check. If you find something unexpected, tell us.
